A preservation garden in the Sacred Valley, an online community that meets for six months, a podcast, and an education center to come.
Taray, Sacred Valley
Several hundred Huachuma are in the ground on a terraced hillside at Taray, with room for five thousand as the terraces fill. The garden was established with the Huachumero Miguel Mendiburu, who has tended these plants for decades, and planting continues.
Huachuma does not grow in the Sacred Valley, so what is served there is carried in from northern Peru. Every cactus that comes out of our ground is one that does not have to make that journey.
Enrolling now
An online community that gathers once a month for six months, to go properly into what Huachuma is, where it comes from, and how people work with it. It is open to anyone new to the medicine and to anyone who has worked with it for years.

A place to gather, and to teach what is known about this plant. It is the fourth part of the plan we set out in 2024, after the land, the terraces and the planting.

General donations fund every project on this page: the preservation garden at Taray, the educational programs, the podcast, and the education center in Peru.
At the garden, that pays for the remaining build out, the development of the hillside, new cactus, and the ongoing care of what is already planted.
